Hennessey Will Give Your Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk 1012bhp
We couldn’t help but be astonished by the bonkers 0-60mph time of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk when it came out. And can you blame us? At 3.5 seconds it dispatches the benchmark sprint quicker than a Lexus LFA, as well as the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, which happens to share its 6.2-litre supercharged V8 with the big Jeep.
But just in case that ridiculous performance isn’t enough, there is a solution. A solution from Hennessey, unsurprisingly. The Texan tuning house has revealed its new ‘HPE1000’ kit for the Trackhawk, which raises the 697bhp output (or a neater 707hp) to 1018bhp. Which should be sufficient.
To reach the four-figure output, Hennessey will add a 4.5-litre supercharger running 14 PSI of boost, upgraded injectors, a stainless steel manifold, a high-flow induction system and much more besides. As ever, you get a set of delightful Hennessey floor mats to finish off your high-riding supercar killer.
Thanks to its newfound power, a HPE1000 Trackhawk will (“based on ideal conditions”) hit 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds, and cover a standing quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds, crossing the line at 133mph. For context, that’s just a smidge slower than a McLaren 720S.
