What’s the correct social protocol when a working vehicle parks in front of your driveway? Hands up who voted for ‘shoot the tyres out and get yourself arrested’?

That’s exactly what one extremely angry Florida man decided was the bst course of acion after a pair of AT&T trucks pulled up to carry out works, partially blocking his driveway. No, really. He actually got his revolver and started putting holes in the trucks.

I get the frustration. I do. My own driveway, on a narrow one-way street, gets blocked by unloading vans all the time. It’s annoying but either you ignore it, because the van won’t be there for too long anyway, or you politely ask the driver to move because you need to get your car off your drive. It’s not difficult – or maybe that’s just the British way.

This video shows what happens when you do the other thing. The man, who apparently told police he ‘just went bananas’ after the AT&T trucks set up outside his house, is reportedly a former fireman who served the Miami-Dade department for 34 years. He was arrested on site but released from jail later that day after being charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm as well as one count of felony vandalism.
