This Is What A De-Catted BMW M2 Sounds Like

Find the standard M2 a little muted? You might appreciate this...

When we ran a BMW M2 as a long-term test car last year, we couldn’t help but think it was a tad muted. But this M2? Well, it doesn’t sound muted. Not by a long stretch.

It’s been fitted with an Fi decat exhaust system, along with an upgraded turbocharger, a carbonfibre bodykit and KW coilovers. It’s now putting out 450bhp, and makes quite an angry noise.

You’ll get the general gist of the car in the first three and a half minutes of the video - after that it turns into a fairly dull autobahn jaunt which is - for the most part - shot in the rain.

What do you think of the noise this thing makes? An improvement, or not?

follow up comment: Thats a sound you can achieve with a cat back exhaust on every car above 100bhp, and have the middle muffler of the exhaust replaced too..
If you just want the sound its really really really cheap, and its not a bmw, so its gonna be cheaper to run too.
i’m sorry its hard to find the right words in english, but car guys will understand what the middle of the exhaust is

Mostly I just hate the fact that there is nothing left to clear up the toxic exhaust gases. That’s just fun for one selfish individual, carried out on the backs of surroundig people.
Did one ever think of that?
Oh, and that “farty” noise is just not, what an engine normally would do - therefor it’s just bloody awful!
