Brace Yourself For 13 New McLarens Over The Next Five Years

We like new McLarens, mainly because they're stunning to look at and usually rammed with ridiculous performance statistics, and it looks like we're in for a golden era of new metal from the Woking-based speed merchants
Brace Yourself For 13 New McLarens Over The Next Five Years

McLaren is planning 13 more product launches between now and 2022, according to the company’s global PR director.

Wayne Bruce, a chap we like very much who sometimes goes by the affectionate (and brilliant) nickname of Manbat, made the announcement in the depths of a statement welcoming a new member of staff to the North American PR team. He said:

“As McLaren Automotive grows and plans another 13 product launches between now and the end of 2022, our traditional and social media efforts are more critical than ever, and this appointment is a commitment to developing the department.”

The 570GT could pave the way for a softer 720S...

Let the speculation begin! We already know about the convertible 570S and the staggeringly fast 720S, but a 720S Spider is sure to follow at some point. A softer 720GT is a possibility too, after the 570GT won universal rave reviews for its more forgiving and compliant on-road dynamics.

Other than that we could expect to see a limited-edition ‘LT’ car based on the 720S, a replacement for the P1 and, in all likelihood, a totally new Sports Series range by the end of 2022, which will be the car’s eighth year on sale. We’re looking forward to finding out what’s in store, especially bearing in mind the top-secret combustion tech McLaren is developing with BMW
