Elon Musk Will Join Donald Trump's Economic Advisory Team
The CEO of the world’s most well-known electric car company, and a man who once claimed climate change was a hoax invented by the Chinese. Doesn’t sound like a match made in heaven, does it?
We are - of course - talking about Tesla CEO Elon Musk and President Elect Donald Trump. The former has been critical of the businessman turned politician in the past - once stating that “I think a bit strongly that Trump is probably not the right guy [to be US president]. But despite this, and being worlds apart in terms of environmental views (Trump has named climate change skeptic Scott Pruitt as the EPA’s future big cheese, among some other dubious appointments), he’s just been announced as part of next President’s economic advisory team.
Uber CEO Travis Kalanick - another Trump critic who once joked he’d move to China in the event of the man getting into the White House - has also joined the team.
Musk, Kalanick, PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, General Motors CEO Mary Barra and other recently announced members of the board will: “meet with the president frequently to share their specific experience and knowledge as the president implements his plan to bring back jobs and Make America Great Again.”
