The VW Golf GTI Clubsport S Just Went Around The 'Ring Even Damn Faster

VW has just sliced two seconds off its existing Clubsport S laptime, breaking its own front-wheel drive Nurburgring record in the process

As if pinching the Honda Civic Type R’s front-wheel drive Nurburgring lap record wasn’t enough, VW has just improved its personal best with the Clubsport S. The already very impressive 07min 49.21sec lap has been improved by just over two seconds with the 306bhp, two-seater lightweight special clocking a 07min 47.19sec effort.

Your move, Honda…

The white comet of Akagi

The thing is these times, we don’t know what setup the manufacturer’s have. I am not talking about tires or power because you can’t lie too long without getting caught for that but I am talking about things such as suspension setup, diff setup. How do we know that they don’t alter them just for the nordschleife? And when they sell the car to us, they set it up differently because of roaduse and what not
