Don’t worry, that news about the next Honda Civic Type R at last being sold on ‘Murican shores wasn’t just an exceptionally good dream. Want a little proof? Here’s a test mule appropriately splashed in Championship White, spotted near Honda’s facility in Southern California.

We had a poke around the interior of the prototype at the LA Auto Show last week, where we found an electronic handbrake (expected to be on North American models but not European versions), and a drive switch with three selectable modes.

The production car - which won’t change a great deal from the prototype - will be revealed next year.
