In the age of turbos and AWD, it’s cool to see that the likes of Lamborghini are still producing cars for bona fide car lovers who appreciate RWD, natural aspiration and a near-200mph top speed. That’s exactly why you’ll like the new Huracan Spyder as much as we do.

The headline stats include 572bhp at 8000rpm from its unspoilt 5.2-litre V10, a top speed of 198mph (we’ll call it 200mph with a tail wind) and a dry weight of 1509kg (that makes it 33kg lighter than the 610-4 Huracan Spyder, but 120kg heavier than coupe 580-2). That weight is distributed 40/60 per cent front and rear respectively.

Thanks to its seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, It’ll also launch from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds. For those interested in the nitty gritty, the roof can be opened and closed in 17 seconds at speeds up to 50kph/31mph.

So what else is new? The front of the car has been redesigned with larger front air intakes that direct air for increased downforce and the Spyder also sits on Pirelli P Zero tyres - wrapped around 19-inch rims - that have been designed especially for the car.

As for the price, there’s no mention as yet, but we’re told that it’ll be placed between the two and four-wheel drive coupe models. The new Huracan Spyder goes on sale in January 2017.

The middle bit of the nose is way too small. It looks like a chipmunk.

The only problem is that, since it seems a majority of people who buy these sorts of cars simply prefer to be seen in them rather than actually drive them properly, I fear these are going to be crashed…a lot; over 570hp coupled with RWD is just asking for trouble in the wrong hands :(

I think it now looks mad enough for a Lambo. It’s absolutely epic! <3

The only thing I don’t really like is the front bumper that looks a bit messed up. Again you could just swap the front bumper to the LP 610-4’s front bumper
