6 Racing Games To Look Forward To In 2017

A whole host of big racing games have been released this year, but there’s plenty to look forward to and lots to expect from the racing titles of 2017. Here are a few of the games we’re looking forward to seeing

It’s hard to believe this will be the 13th installment of the Gran Turismo franchise. Seen by some as a bit of a filler between Gran Turismo 6 and 7, Sport’s release date has been postponed to 2017 for final tweaking.

The PlayStation 4 release has been described as the first in a new generation of GT games and it’ll even include a new FIA racing game series, featuring two online championships. Initial demo feedback was mixed but the game appears to have made huge strides forward throughout the year.

Forza Motorsport 7

So we haven’t actually heard anything official from Turn 10 on the next title, but a new game in the series is released each year in the Motorsport-Horizon pattern. It’s safe to assume Motorsport 7 will hit our consoles at the end of 2017.

A big rumour ahead of Forza Motorsport was the inclusion of motorbikes, which could potentially feature in 7. With Turn 10 working closely on Playground Games’ Horizon 3, we could well see 7 utilise features like its advanced weather system.

F1 2017

This one isn’t particularly surprising. There’s a new Formula 1 game released each year, but there are question marks over 2017. That’s because Codemasters’ license for the official F1 games has now run out, although it seems likely the game developer will renew the license for further releases in the future.

F1 2016 made huge strides forward for the franchise, following the disappointment of the previous year’s game. Graphics and handling were all improved, while the new and super-immersive career mode was pretty damn awesome. It’d be great to see Codemasters keeping the ball rolling and taking that positive momentum into a 2017 game.

Project Cars 2

The first game in the Project Cars series hit our screens in 2015 and was met with positive reviews from players, particularly with the stunning graphics on offer. It was definitely worth the wait and soon after its release, a sequel was announced by Slightly Mad Studios.

It looks set to include more cars, tracks and game modes, more racing disciplines (like Rallycross and Hillclimb, which would be mega) and a new co-op career. No release date has been set but it could well appear for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2017.

Need for Speed 2017

Earlier this year a Need for Speed blog post confirmed a new game is coming in 2017, although we’re not sure what it’ll be called or what it’ll include. The last NFS game was released for consoles in 2015 and there’s been a two-year gap between many of the franchise’s titles. Whatever direction it takes, we’re excited to find out.

TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge

The Isle of Man TT is undoubtedly the most bonkers motorsport event of the year, with motorbike riders needing big balls and whole lot of courage to take part in the famous race.

A game based around the Isle of Man TT is expected to be released in 2017, following an announcement from Bigben Interactive earlier in the year. This game could be pretty insane.

If you have a PC with Windows 10 installed, you can play Forza Horizon 3, first ever installment from Turn10 to be able to use out side the XB1. Also when you race online you can not only race people from PC, but on the XB1 as well.

Nobody

Lemme guess, Project Cars 2 is gonna be another fake crowdfunding effort to scam more money from fans?

Also, NFS 2017 will probably be just another disappointment.

Imagine… instead of a Motorsport game… it’s a… wait for it… hear me out here… a rally game! I know there is the Dirt Series and the WCR series but common. A Forza rally game? Sure the car list might be kinda small but comeon. That’d be so cool.
