Watch In Horror As A Nissan Tsuru Disintegrates During Crash Testing
For every narrow escape from death we read about or see courtesy of dash-cam footage, there’s a crash where someone isn’t so lucky, and the difference is often the car itself.
In regions like Latin America and India the safety standards are nowhere near where North America and Europe are at, and the local wings of Global NCAP are trying to change that.
With a Latin NCAP rating system from zero to five, this shocking footage shows a four-star Nissan Versa in a front three-quarter collision with a zero-star Nissan Tsuru. The latter’s A-pillar folds terrifyingly, with the interior footage showing just what an impact the driver’s face and body would sustain. Horrible.
After seeing the results, Nissan immediately withdrew the Tsuru from sale. You have to wonder how many lives that decision might ultimately save…

The tsuru II, called Sentra 1988 to 1992, is still used in mexico, so maybe the the tsuru will have about 20 years more in mexico :(

If you go to Mexico specifically these are used as taxis. They make for cool little cars a bare bones option is available with no power anything not even power steering. The Mexicans love these things they’ve been ricing them for years.
Seriously neons and other nonsense are common on a tsuru last summer my taxi driver had a turbocharged one with chromies and a carbon fiber wrap.

Wait to see the safety precautions in Jordan! I bought a 2016 kia Rio with no abs no airbags no TCS and yet it has a Bluetooth stereo for $20k, when I asked the company why they said the airbags are too expensive to change and not covered by the insurance company. And yes we don’t have emissions tests.
