Watch In Horror As A Nissan Tsuru Disintegrates During Crash Testing
For every narrow escape from death we read about or see courtesy of dash-cam footage, there’s a crash where someone isn’t so lucky, and the difference is often the car itself.
In regions like Latin America and India the safety standards are nowhere near where North America and Europe are at, and the local wings of Global NCAP are trying to change that.
With a Latin NCAP rating system from zero to five, this shocking footage shows a four-star Nissan Versa in a front three-quarter collision with a zero-star Nissan Tsuru. The latter’s A-pillar folds terrifyingly, with the interior footage showing just what an impact the driver’s face and body would sustain. Horrible.
After seeing the results, Nissan immediately withdrew the Tsuru from sale. You have to wonder how many lives that decision might ultimately save…

That Nissan looks about 20 years old why are they only just crash testing it?
And us in the developed world are outraged at the new Hilux getting on two wheels? Seems like a lovechild of Volvo and Saab compared to this
In México this car was well received it’s used for many jobs like taxi cars as well some stores and schools use them for publicity you can say that the tsuru is a legend car in here

If you take away the cheap cars, road deaths will rise, as the poorest of people stop being able to afford a car, and buy a scooter bike, which is even more unsafe
This is a car made in Mexico, but this happens with all Latin America- Im from Argentina and just this year they stop making the Chevrolet /Opel corsa B (YOU READ OK) and the Renault clio phase II, two years ago they stopped selling the first gen of the FIAT UNO - an so. The problem is that the replacement models for theese cars are not as good as you should spect it. But when the law and goverments don´t mind about safety manufacturers do what ever they want - once again sory for my english.
What about the other Nissan, the versa? (first time I’ve ever seen either of those cars)
I rode in Nissan Tsurus all the time while living in Mexico… Glad to know i was safe…
