Yes, This Is Actually The Next Toyota Supra

Prepare to freak out: the (very) long awaited Supra successor has been spotted in the wild!

With all the rumours flying around, the FT-1 concept which is now becoming a distant memory and the knowledge that it’s flipping ages since the Mk4 went out of production, we can finally get our first look at the next Toyota Supra. The camo’d car you see here - spotted undergoing testing - is almost certainly it, and we’re losing our minds just a little bit.

Who can tell us what car this is? Hint: Everyone's been waiting a loooong time for this one 👇🏼

The shape is clearly shared with the stunning FT-1 concept, though we won’t know for sure how much it’s been diluted until some of that camo is shed.

As far as what powers the car - developed in a collaboration with BMW that’ll also spawn the new Z5 - the speculation seems to change from week to week. Some reports have suggested the engines in both the Z5 and the Supra will be the work of BMW, while others point toward a twin-turbo Lexus V6 in Toyota’s end of the deal. Whatever happens, a hybrid powertrain seems likely.

Although it’s hard to tell exactly what it looks like through the camo, what do you think of the long-awaited Supra replacement?

The body and the Paint job… My brain is yelling me “Kill it before it lays eggs”, and I think I agree.

The paint job is for testing. It’s painted so that the other companies can’t see the design of the body very well.

And the bodywork might be also hard plastic camo, so you don’t see the real shapes.

Made a small comparison.
I believe the bumpers on the front and maybe also on the back are fake, but you can clearly see some design elements from the FT1 concept.

I love how you circle the giant side air scoop from the concept where there is clearly nothing in the erlkoenig :D

That is probably what it is, it’s known that car companies can replace the whole exterior and putting in fake panels inside the car when they’re testing the new concept car. They easily can spend a day or two to make it look completely different.

Judging from the level of the camo (so flat) the tail lights might have great resemblence to the MKIV Tail with slight angle (round on boot side and sharper on outside) :D

Wish I could see it without the camo paint. I only like the back as it is.
