This Guy Rolled His Car Onto Its Side While Avoiding A Head-On Collision

Faced with another driver trying to pull off a ludicrously unsafe overtake, the guy in this Toyota Yaris took evasive action, and flipped his car onto its side in the process

Fortunately, the Yaris driver suffered only minor injuries in this scary accident. What’s particularly pleasing to see is how calm all parties were after the crash - it certainly makes a nice change to all those road rage videos we’re used to watching!

This is why you should lower your car folks. If his car was low enough it would just have smashed into the wall instead of rolling

Yaris guy has reflexes, like a dead horse… and this could’ve been avoided easily.

Don’t say that… it wasn’t you… probably me in my car would have avoided. But I don’t know that car…

Well to be honest that was probably the best reaction to a car crash ever 😂.

I love how he calmly says “Well, that was f**king scary.”

So it seems Yaris is at some speed, with driver wearing a GoPro (To not film his high speed driving skills, naturally), and it’s 3 full seconds (because instantly scanning the road after a blind hill is not a priority when driving quick-ish) from the point when you see oncoming threat to the point when the driver says “ooh” (a mandatory evasive action, I am sure) before braking. I am honestly not impressed by this driver.

Yaris driver should be a rookie, he had enough space between BMW and the other side of the road if he just slowered a bit without standing on brakes. It allowes BMW to overtake I get enough of those kind of situations here in Sri Lanka

Lots of keyboard warriors on this post for sure. At the end of the day, whatever the reaction of the Yaris driver may have been, it’s not his fault the BMW attempted an extremely unsafe overtake. It’s also likely that the guy had never been in an accident before (which isn’t his fault either), and I think a few scratches and a wrecked beater is a small price to pay for walking away from an accident that could have been far worse.

If anything, this video is a good example of why we fit ABS to modern cars.
