Was The Second Episode Of Top Gear An Improvement Over The First?
From the shouting to the long and seemingly pointless Reliant challenge, it was clear you guys found a lot to dislike about Top Gear post-revamp when watching the first episode. But you know what? I actually enjoyed the second episode.
Sure, it’s clear Evans has work to do when it comes to telling an audience about a car in an insightful way (he is new to this, so should be cut a little slack) and can still come across as irritating, but the McLaren feature was good to watch, and the SUV challenge genuinely enjoyable.
Comments in the CT live discussion seemed much more positive too, so we thought we’d put it to a vote to see exactly what you guys thought:

definitely a major improvement over the pilot. the suv part was hilarious (almost cried when they tore that mercedes apart though). extra gear was just as good too. i think by the end of this season, they should have it figured out.
Now we have two car shows to looks forward to :)

I really loved the SUV segment. It felt like a Top Gear special. And Eddie was pretty entertaining, too. Kinda felt bad for him when he ruined the Merc :/
It’s too scripted. And it just doesn’t feel authentic. I know it may come with time but it’s almost like they’re trying too hard to be funny and entertaining.

I drove quite fast to get home so i wouldn’t miss it, so i think i’m sold….the films are still very high quality. The mclaren one was very good

Watching Evans cry on Top Gear Extra was one of the most awkward and embarrassing things I’ve seen on TV
Was a little awkward, but I totally understand it, I wuld cry like a baby if someone let me use his F1, i mean is a real dream car, the pinnacle of motoring.
And i also understand the first car feel, he’s a real car guy after all.
Would be better if Jensen replaced Evans….just saying
