Punting Your Fellow Club Racer Into The Barrier Is A Dick Move
At the VAG Trophy meeting last weekend at Brands Hatch, a Golf GTI driver aggressively shoved a competitor from behind, sending him flying into a barrier
For pushing Darelle Wilson’s VW Scirocco off track, Golf driver Toby Bearne was excluded from the entire race meeting, costing him two victories. He also had six points added to his racing license.
It’s important to remember with videos like these, that unlike when we see an incident at a higher level of motorsport, there aren’t huge, well-funded teams behind the racers to stick the cars back together. Getting back on track after a big accident is something that costs the competitors a great deal of money and heartache, which is why needlessly aggressive behaviour like this is such a sad thing to see in club-level motorsport.
We hope Wilson can get himself back out racing soon.

My weekend at brands
That was some stupid driving but Clark is as fast a corner as they come on the exit and if he had let off he’d have been passed maybe twice. He tried to pass around the outside and got cut by Wilson trying to wrestle himself back into his defending position. Quite badly IMO. I don’t know it’s a tough decision to make there. Sometimes you just have to accept you’ll lose a few places due to someone else’s shoddy defending and he should have just applied some brake and taken the hit. It’s a split second thing. Wouldn’t like to be in that position.

the little i know about motorsport is that cars with little too no sponsors are funded by the driver from their own pocket, people like “Toby” who have a sponsor covered car can financially afford a big incident like wilson had but 6 points is nothing considering the pain and clearly stress wilsons going throught. Toby Bearne = over confident AH
