The Audi RS Q8 Has Just Set A New Nurburgring Record
It’s impressive to watch any car lap the Nurburgring in less than eight minutes, but in-car footage from a tall and heavy SUV achieving that feat has a charm all of its own.
Footage has been released showing the upcoming Audi RS Q8 dominating the famous tourist attraction, recording a full bridge to bridge lap in just 7m42.253s. That’s almost five seconds faster than the Lamborghini Urus and 12 seconds faster than the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63.
Ingolstadt’s newest behemoth uses the same twin-turbo V8 as the RS6. As you’d expect, it’s not short on grunt, merrily flinging 592bhp and 590lb ft at all four bespoke road-spec Pirelli P Zero tyres. Those extensively tested rubber hoops measure a chunky 295/35 and sit on optional 23-inch rims.
Watch the video to see how the hulking Q8 flagship achieves its lap time. There’s understeer, there’s oversteer, and you’d better brace your buttocks because there will also be clenching.
