If you were in any doubt about 2019 being a great year for fast cars, you only have to watch this video. Shot during an industry pool testing session at the Nordschleife by Nurburgring blogger and CT friend Misha Charoudin, it shows us all sorts of yet-to-be-revealed fast cars.

The most exciting of all? That might just be the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3, complete with a top-mount rear wing, reminiscent of the one fitted to the 911 RSR racer, which itself was derived from the 919 Hybrid’s. It makes the 992 look like a particularly serious piece of kit.

Meanwhile, the aero pack fitted to the disguised Mercedes-AMG GT looks significantly different to what you’d find on a GT R Pro, so we’ll happily speculate that we’re looking at the long-awaited Black Series version of the car. These ultra-hardcore AMGs usually arrive fairly late in the base car’s lifecycle, so it seems about the right time for the GT Black to be out testing.

Other highlights include what might well be an M2 CS run-out special, the Renault Megane RS Trophy R (is the front-wheel drive ‘Ring record about to tumble?), a BMW M8, the Mercedes-AMG A45, and even Land Rover’s new Defender. Yep, even a vehicle like the Defender isn’t safe from Nordschleife testing…
