If there’s one thing that’s more American than a heavy-duty pick-up truck, it’s a heavy duty pick-up truck that comes loaded with a butt tonne of dubiously necessary but always cool extras.

Here’s a new take on exactly that: a new Ram 2500 Heavy Duty that’s been blitzed with a Mopar catalogue – and some concepts that haven’t been confirmed for production yet.

Starting with simple extras like a fold-out step to help you up into the load bed, there’s a list of 170 Mopar parts that help to turn a factory-fresh do-it-all Ram into something more tailored. Whether it works or not, the bar of five-inch LED lights on the Blue Streak Ram 2500’s roof looks awesome. It comes with an extra switch bank inside the cabin.

Wheel arch extensions frame 17-inch custom-milled beadlock wheels and off-road Goodyear tyres. The wheels are among the ‘conceptual’ features not yet available to the public. So is the mighty cool tyre carrier frame in the load bay, which can take up to a 37-inch tyre. Powder-coated rock rails protect the body.

On the inside there are bucket-type floor mats that help stop water, slush, mud or worse from spreading too far. Many of the interior upgrades are aesthetic, though, like stainless steel door sill guards that are actually more about displaying the ‘RAM’ text logo.

Elsewhere in the new range of Mopar’s Ram 2500 goodies are a trailer camera like the Valeo one we showed you recently, a load bed extender, a wireless smartphone charger, matching tool boxes and a side step for if your legs are on the short side.
