The latest Gran Turismo Sport update has just landed and it’s full of really cool new stuff. Seven new cars and a new track – with six possible layouts – have been added to the already rich choice.

Topping the bill is Lewis Hamilton’s W08 Mercedes F1 car, one of the fastest racing cars in the world at the time it competed, setting new track records at a number of major circuits. You know you want a go.

If retro is more your jam then you can also get behind the wheel of the legendary Mazda 787B that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991 and remains the only rotary-powered car ever to take the overall race win. It was also, until 2018, the only Japanese car to win the famous Le Mans race.

Also on the seven-strong list are the Honda S660, Honda Beat and Daihatsu Copen, which can be used in a new race series called the Lightweight K Cup. These small-displacement engines and slow speeds should make the series a useful learning platform as well as providing some close racing.

The final two cars are a little lustier. The Ford GT LM Spec II is a total beast, or for something more classic there’s (finally) a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. Rest assured the repair bills for crashing it in GT Sport won’t echo real life.

A new track comes in the shape of the fictional Circuit de Sainte-Croix in the south of France. At 5.88 miles long, with 19 corners, it can be set up in three different layouts, all of which can also be reversed. Try them out and see which is your favourite.
