This Mad 800whp Porsche 911 GT2 Has Inboard Suspension

Think the 690bhp output of the current Porsche 911 GT2 RS is impressive? It’s nothing compared to this extensively modified 996 GT2, which puts out around 800bhp at the wheels.

Its flat-six has been given new turbochargers from Tial, a custom exhaust system, new injectors, uprated intercoolers and much more besides. But the engine isn’t the standout feature of this car. Nope, that’d be the rear suspension.

BBI Autosport of Huntington Beach, California has created an incredible inboard suspension system that’s littered with bespoke parts including a gorgeous ‘bladed’ anti-roll bar. The dampers themselves are adjustable ones from Öhlins. The idea was to make looking through the rear windscreen a little like looking at the inner workings of an expensive watch, something which BBI has achieved, we reckon.

It’s one of the finest 996s we’ve ever seen, and it’s great to see it meticulously detailed in this episode of Build Biology.
