Stopping distances: Real world vs highway code
Here in the UK to get your driving license you have to pass both a practical and written test. One of the 307 things you could be tested on is stopping distances. For instance, at 70 miles an hour, ignoring thinking time, they state the stopping distance is 75 meters.
These figures were first published 40 years ago and as a bit of fun, and for science, I thought we’d test what results we’d get in a modern car.
