World's only street-legal Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 Waxenberger. Producing 320bhp, hitting 270 km/h in 1969. Was used to deliver mail... quickly
World’s only surviving street-legal Waxenberger. Located in Vehoniemi, Finland, today this car belongs to the Urpo Lahtinen Foundation. It was used and owned by the producer of the Finnish “Smile” maganize, the “Magazine emperor” Urpo Lahtinen who died in 1994. It was used in Finland’s first drag racing event in 1975, beating American big-block muscle cars in the street-legal category, and during the winter Urpo used to race the car on frozen lake ice.
The Emperor used the Waxenberger on his daily drive to work, and sometimes he used the car to deliver magazines and mail during night. Imagine, driving through the dark Finnish forests in 1969 hitting speeds close to 180 km/h.

man this is mad :O
Oh wow. That’s amazing
Wow thank you so much for tagging me :) this thing is absolutely sick! I wouldn’t mind being a mail man if I got to drive this beast 😅
I have actually sat in this car. It was pushed out of the museum and one of the old mechanics opened the front doors. I asked : “Can me and my father sit in it?”. He says “Well, normally I wouldn’t do this, but ok”. And I sat in the driver seat and my father was on the passenger side. I sat there for a few minutes and the mechanic said: “It’s very nice, isn’t it?”. I replied with a simple “Yes”, got out of the car and then they pushed it back in. Mercedes tried to buy this, they offered 10,000,000 Finnish marks, but the museum refused to sell it.
So fake
What? What do you mean fake?
The want is real
actually my dad has driven it ages ago urpo brought it to mechanic shop the shop was places weirdly so there was a one way road that you had to drive to get to the back door where the shop actually was my dad said that it got up to speed very well
