Tribute to the Alfa Romeo "Busso V6"

The Busso V6 came out in 1979 and was introduced in the Alfa 6. Initially, it was a 2.5L(158hp) but later on it ranged from 2.0L to 3.2L.

1: One engine fits all

In 1987 the RWD Alfa 75 QV (Quadrofoglio Verde) came out and it was a factory-ready drift car. Its 3.0L V6 “pushed” 192hp. It was supplied with an LSD straight out of the factory. Then, in 2002 the Alfa 147 came out and MAN WAS IT FAST! Its 3.2L (247hp)V6 propelled it from 0-62 in 6.3 seconds! It was a handling monster and a properly quick track car!

2: Engine block

The Busso V6 engine block was all-aluminium and fully bullet-proof, and could handle quite some power.
Fun fact: All the V6 production engines were seriously de-tuned and with a really cheap tune a 40+hp gain was possible. So the 3.0 Alfa 75 could have an output of over 230hp, and the Alfa 147 could output about 300hp and could do 0-62 in under 6 seconds. And all that with a Naturally Aspirated V6

3: Sound

This engine was, is and will be the best sounding V6. It got its name from its “father” Giuseppe Busso. Thanks to its S/DOHC 60° 2/4 valve valvetrain, we get a sound like none other! It was refered to as the best sounding and most glorious six cylinder engine of all time.

Unfortunately, it was discontinued in 2005, and its fans from all over the world were shocked. So I personally dedicate this tribute to the famous “Busso V6”
