Sébastien Loeb has always had a knack for accomplishing great things, with so much success in his professional career and numerous broken records behind him. His newest challenge is bringing that action-filled career to his fans in the form of the new Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo game.

Scheduled for release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 by late 2015, the game will have three modes:

  • Offline - brush up your driving skills, earn rewards and prepare against your competition
  • Online - race globally against enemies and mates for bragging rights
  • Career - take the steps of a real rally driver, fighting your way to the top for a chance to be on Sébastien Loeb’s team

In Career mode, your mentor is Sébastien Loeb, who will give you advice along the way. He inputs real tips and techniques he uses in rally racing to help you achieve your goals. The game was specifically formulated to put the real experiences of driving in the WRC in the hands of gamers.

As the build continues, there is no shortage of input from driver Sébastien Loeb. He is said to hold frequent meetings to check on the progress and try out the game at each stage of development. It’s refreshing to hear that he is keen to be so deeply involved in this project. As racing game lovers, we all know that licensing doesn’t mean the driver or race team is involved at all in the making of a game. This game is quite the opposite. Loeb approves or rejects every aspect of the game according to his real world experiences.

The development team and publisher behind the game, Milestone, is taking proper steps to be sure the game hits the level of detail in all areas that racing gamers look for the most. The official S.L.R.E. Facebook page is packed with open questions from the developers to fans. They are currently listening to suggestions about course locations, details in the cars and backgrounds and feedback on the cars that are being built.

The S.L.R.E. team tells us that they are very close to releasing a demo, so we can better understand the handling and physics of the game. One thing they are focusing on is creating a realistic drive rather than a ‘pretty game’. Sure, the graphics will be in line to compete with some of the hottest racing game titles, but the gameplay is the most important feature; one which will not be sacrificed for graphics.

Who’ll be looking to buy this when it’s released?
