Sort of, venturis make suction by reducing the cross sectional area of the gas flow to increase speed and create a vacuum, the ejector effect uses the fact that the gas in the ejector is already travelling at a higher velocity and therefore lower pressure.
Similar in that the high velocity causes low pressure to move a second liquid or gas, but different in how the high velocity is created.
