Buff Buses: London's New Press-Up Bus

We're not the biggest bus fans here at Car Throttle. You have to wait at somewhere called a 'Bus Stop' if you want to hitch a ride in one, plus it only picks you up at whatever time it wants, not when you want it to.

However we respect the fact that these double deckers, such as the beloved Routemaster above, have one of the toughest jobs in Britain; getting up to 72 people around the nation's capital at any time in rush hour.

Now undertaking a job like that would require some form of preparation, and we can reveal exclusively what goes on in those bus depots on a typical weekday morning at 5am. That's right, they followed Kanye West's advice and got themselves a work out plan!

Okay, not all of them actually drop and give their owners 20 before going out into the wild but this particular bus does and then some. It's only three days until that sporting event that everyone has been excited about for the last four years; the 2012 London Olympics. And to mark the rare occasion, artist David Cerny has installed two arm mechanisms on this 1957 bus which can lift the 6 tonne vehicle up and down to make it look like it's doing press ups. "There is one common exercise for every sportsman in the world, and that is push-ups", said Cerny.

Not only does it look like it's preparing for the most important event of its life it also sounds like it is, thanks to speakers playing in the background. You still think we're completely mad and making this up? Oh no son! Proof is below.

Next up, a bus that can do jumping jacks. We jus' playin' yo!
