Ebay Find of The Day: TUNED Saab 900 SPG Turbo

If any if you watch /DRIVE on YouTube, (more specifically, The Smoking Tire), then you are familiar with their mini-series called /TUNED. In one episode titled, How good is a tuned Saab? Matt Farah drives a one of a kind, heavily modifed Saab 900 SPG Turbo in Los Angeles, California. This is unlike most Saabs because the owner, a Saab enthusiast and 9-3 Viggen owner, actually modified it into a slick and quick street machine. Now just how often do you see a tuned Saab? I’ve yet to see one in person myself! Anyway, this car is for sale! The car popped up on Ebay(US) recently, with a Buy It Now price of $25,000. This same car was on Ebay a while back with a similar Buy It Now price, but it did not sell. The post on Ebay has numerous high quality pictures, a list of all specific upgrades, a personal statement from the owner, as well as some other specifics like dyno testing, service records, price negotiations, etc… This is something I wish car sellers would do more often… So what makes this car so cool? Most of the upgrades on this car were custom made/fabricated, because there is little to no aftermarket for these kinds of cars. Not one aspect of this car was left untouched. The exterior, interior, gearbox, engine, suspension, and brakes were all modified in some way, sitting in harmony with a set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Wheels + some 225.35.18 Yokohama S.Drive tires. Plus, cthe car also has some 100% custom made carbon fiber bits!! The list of upgrades is far too long for me to post, so feel free to click on the link provided above to see the whole list. Included below is the video of Matt Farah driving the car:

Do I think it is worth $25,000? That’s a tough call. The owner is adamant that he does not want to part with it for much less, as the car means so much to him. Also, Saabs alone are not too desireable and there is almost no market for performance parts on a 900, simply because there is little-to-no demand. However, all the modifications that were mostly custom made for this car has to add some value, right? Yes, it is a one of a kind car. Yes, it is a cool car. Yes it is a custom Saab. Yes, I do want it so badly. Unfortunately, I cannot afford it. (I likely wouldn’t pay that much either, but that’s just me).

What do you think? Comemnt below!

He’s still trying to sell this, and he’ll never get that price. It’s a shame he doesn’t have more power mods on this or the viggen that was reviewed on //Tuned, gave a bad rep for tuned Saabs.

I would buy it just because Matt Farah drove it. If I had the money.

I’d love to own it myself, for some reason, this Saab in particular is something I would love to have in my garage.
