This Manual, Twin-Turbo MkIV Toyota Supra Is A $130,000 Dream

We all know how rare twin-turbo, manual-shifting Toyota Supras are, especially from the prettier A80 generation, and prices are now in dream territory

We know some of you might keep a beady eye on the prices of late-model MkIV Toyota Supras, especially manual and turbocharged ones, and wow, do we have some bad news for you.

CT user Jia the Supra Fanboy (because of course it was) pointed this one out to us. A 2002 car from the final months of the A80’s production life, it’s a right-hand drive import to Canada from Japan. It’s manual, there’s a twin-turbo 3.0-litre 2JZ-GTE under the bonnet and it’s completely standard. Commence heavy breathing.

It’s not quite at mythical unicorn status because of the 32,000km (20,000 miles) it’s covered, but that’s hardly a lot, is it? And anyway, with that kind of mileage, the value won’t drop through the floor if you actually drive it occasionally. That’s a big tick for us.

For sale with Rennsport Automobile in Vancouver, British Columbia – a lovely city that’s well worth a visit even if you’re not buying a Supra – the one thing that bugs us is the inexcusable lack of detail in the autotrader.ca listing. The images are low-quality and tiny, too.

Surely, when a vehicle this collectible and this rare finds its way to your showroom, you should be preparing a comprehensive advert so that someone could feel confident putting a deposit down over the phone even before seeing it. The other Matt has had a moan about it before.

We love the totally out-of-place retro cloth upholstery, though. The pattern looks like it’s been lifted from an early 1990s Peugeot 106 special edition; wonderful in its awfulness.

Anyway, that bad news we were talking about: this is for sale for 129,900 Canadian dollars (£75,000). The dream keeps slipping further away…

Hat tip to Jia!
