While we very much like the look of ABT Sportsline’s striking ‘RS5-R’, CT’s preferred V6-powered RS Audi from the current line-up is the RS4 Avant. But as luck would have it, the German tuner has just revealed the results of its first round of tweaks for the stupidly quick estate as a follow-up to its overhauled RS5.

It’s not quite as powerful as the 523bhp RS5-R, but with 503bhp (plus 502lb ft of torque) on tap, it’s still going to be seriously rapid. That’s a decent increase from the 444bhp released by the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 as standard, and it’s all thanks to an ABT Engine Control Unit which “continuously adjusts more than 25 different parameters.”

The suspension upgrade menu is fairly limited, with the only current options being ABT anti-roll bars for the front and rear axles. That said, the car in the pictures does look to have received a reasonable suspension drop, so there are no doubt further upgrades incoming.

As a finishing touch, there are four sets of 20-inch alloy wheels to choose from, each available in three different finishes. According to ABT, they “have a touch of ‘bad boy’” to them. Lovely.

We’re expecting it to be on display at the Geneva Motor Show, where company CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt is promising to show a “little surprise” related to the RS4…
