The theme of The Grand Tour’s second series being rather a lot better than series one looks set to continue, if the trailer for episode eight is anything to go by.

Taking centre stage will be two beautiful re-born British sports cars of yesteryear: an Aston Martin DB4 GT lightweight piloted by Jeremy Clarkson, and a Jaguar XKSS picked by Richard Hammond. Both cars have gearboxes that look a tad tricky to use….

Sounds like a pretty standard twin-test, but nothing is straight-forward in Grand Tour Land. As such, James May decides to be the interloper, inserting an FK8 Honda Civic Type R into the mix. Which is quite possibly the least James May car in existence.

Back at the Eboladrome Jeremy Clarkson chucks around the new Ford GT, while Celebrity F-Off attempts to find “the world’s fastest drummer from a band beginning with the letter P” in a showdown between Stewart Copeland of The Police and Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason.

Should be good…
