The Q500 Enforcer Is An Uprated Mustang With An Awesome Name

Expert Ford tuner Steeda is about to unveil its modified 2018 Ford Mustang, and if its performance is anywhere near as serious as its name, we’re in for a treat.

The Q500 Enforcer will take centre stage at the Performance Car Show next weekend. It’s Steeda’s first Mustang GT V8-based project to see British shores and comes from its US-famous SSV (Steeda Serialised Vehicle) line. It turns the ‘Murica up to 11 with engine, chassis and styling upgrades all laser-focused on maximising the Mustang’s real-world dynamic potential.

There’s a cold air intake, custom exhaust, a remap and fully-adjustable suspension, not to mention an optional choice of final drive ratios. And yes, it does knock on the door of 500bhp; the firm quotes 480bhp as a start point. Tasty. The springs and bushes have been swapped out for more serious items in order to cope. The anti-roll bars are bespoke.

If you need a second opinion on Steeda’s chassis expertise, you’ll find it in the movie Need for Speed. The director, Scott Waugh, wanted to film as much real driving as possible and keep the CGI to a minimum. He had the Mustangs fitted with Steeda suspension to make sure they could take the abuse that was thrown at them.

‘Most of’ the Enforcer mods will be available to retro-fit from Steeda direct, for anyone already blessed with a set of keys to a 2018 Mustang, but only the Enforcer will have the genuine SSV build plate and badging.

Steeda’s mission was to create a ‘factory-plus’ version of the Mustang. In our sole teaser picture of the Enforcer you can see 20-inch Velgen wheels, a duck-tail spoiler and sill extensions, while out of sight are goodies like a custom splitter.

The firm is still relatively unknown in Europe outside of fast Ford and general tuning circles but has 30 years of Mustang-fettling nous to call upon.

All of the Enforcer’s upgrades will be detailed during the show. We’ll bring them to you when they emerge. If you’re going to the Birmingham NEC-based show, Steeda’s stand will have a plethora of Ford-specific performance parts for the Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo and Mustang, plus more wheels from Velgen.
