A brand-new car has arrived in GTA Online as part of the continued additions to the Gunrunning update, called the Ocelot Ardent – a retro, weaponised sportscar.

It’s a mean, ferocious, Lotus Esprit-inspired beast with popup front headlamps and twin machine guns hiding behind the front bumper.

The car definitely has the vibe of the Esprit used in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me (it seems to take inspiration from multiple generations of Esprit), although it isn’t amphibious. It’s important to point that out…

The Ocelot Ardent can be snapped up from the Warstock Cache and Carry website in the game, but it doesn’t come cheap. No - it can be yours for $1,150,000. Ouch.

There’s also a bunch of bonuses running through to the end of the weekend – any Bunker-based Adversary Mode will get you double GTA$ and RP, as will the Vehicle Vendetta Adversary Mode too.

Vehicle Cargo Sell Missions are giving double payouts, and there’s a 25 per cent price drop for the Vehicle Cargo Warehouse.

Meanwhile Rockstar has also announced a major new update to the game, called ‘Smuggler’s Run’. It’s completely free and focuses on the smuggling opportunities of the air corridors above Los Santos and Blaine County.

The update expands the transportation of criminal cargo to the air, with new aircrafts including planes, helicopters and new ultralights (available for purchase in GTA Online).

There are also new aircraft hangar locations for your fleet of aircrafts and these become your HQ for managing your smuggling business.

Plus, the update adds new air, land and sea stunt races too. Checkpoints are placed to change vehicle class in races, switching between air, land and sea seamlessly.

It’s the first big update to GTA Online since Gunrunning, and it’ll be available from Tuesday 29 August. The fast-paced, dramatic trailer showcases exactly what Smuggler’s Run is all about, although the name pretty much sums it up.
