If Only This Honda Jazz Type R Was A Real Thing

This week saw the reveal of a new, sporty-ish version of the Honda Jazz. But with only 128bhp to its name and the suspension left well alone, the Jazz ‘Dynamic’ is going to be a lukewarm hatch at best, rather than a hot one.

Thankfully, the Internet’s dedicated car renderers are happy to go where manufacturers aren’t, as evidenced by CT friend X-Tomi Design‘s imagination of the Jazz Type R that Honda most likely won’t make. It looks to have been made by virtually transplanting elements of the Civic Type R, including the side skirts, wheel arch bulges and parts of the front bumper, with the whole lot topped off with a prominent boot spoiler.

The thing is, a much more powerful Jazz should easily be possible. Honda’s 1.5-litre engine fits quite nicely, so it could presumably be swapped for the 180bhp version found in the Civic hatch, or even the 205bhp 1.5 found in the Civic SI we’re so cruely denied in the UK.

Come on Honda, you know you want to…
