We have seen both Charger and Challenger Hellcats break into the nines on the ‘strip before, but this fabulously shouty effort from a Charger is particularly topical given the Challenger SRT Demon’s reveal last week.

With its relatively skinny 275-section rear tyres, the standard Charger and Challenger Hellcats do have a habit of lighting up the rears off the line. No such issue here, with the modified car clocking a 9.759sec run at 142.8mph, making the Corvette in the left lane look rather pedestrian.
