How about this for a noisy piece of F1 history? It’s a lightly used Ford GT, formerly owned by none other than 2009 champion Jenson Button.

It’s one of the 101 GTs that came to Europe, and one of only five marked as ‘VIP’ cars. Since being built in 2005, the 550bhp, 5.4-litre V8-powered car has done just 8350 miles.

It’s going under the hammer during Silverstone Autction’s Race Retro auction in Warwickshire on either 25 or 26 February, with an estimate of £250,000 - £300,000. A fair chunk of money for sure - as Button would probably say - but given the silly prices some modern classic supercars are going for these days, that doesn’t seem so bad…
