Only The Stig Could Make The Audi R8 Dance Like This

We spent a surprising amount of time in Audi R8s last year. After trying the V10 Plus, the standard V10 coupe and finally the Spyder, we reckon we have a fairly good idea of how these things handle.

The R8 is a grippy, tied down sort of car, and prone to understeering on the limit, oversteering only when you take some brave pills and nudge the rear out with an heavy application of V10 power.

But here’s the thing: we’re ordinary human beings. Racing drivers are a rather different breed, and with a certain chap called Stig installed behind the wheel of this R8 V10 Plus, Audi’s mid-engined supercar is made to dance around Top Gear’s endangered Dunsfold test track in a rather beautiful way.

Granted, it’s not the most oversteer-infused Stig lap we’ve ever seen, but it’s an excellent display of commitment and driving skill.
