Are You Still Watching The Grand Tour?

There have been some Grand Tour episodes I’ve not been too fond of thus far, but the two part Namibia special that’s just been on seemed like a high point. It felt just like ‘old times’, albeit with more budget and a little more swearing.

Clarkson, Hammond and May were at their witty best, the familiar chemistry backed up with some great action, truly epic cinematography and a dash of drama. But here’s the thing: I had to do a little catching up on the series to reach that point, as I’d fallen behind.

Are You Still Watching The Grand Tour?

This perhaps shouldn’t be surprising: all series - whether they’re on a conventional TV channel or a streaming service - tend to have a decline in viewership after the first episode in a season, and it seems The Grand Tour isn’t immune. There are no viewing figures available from Amazon Prime, but certainly on CT we’ve noticed fewer people talking about the show, and a diminishing interest in the episode trailers when they crop up.

Like I said, nothing unusual: the ‘hype train’ has to depart at some point. But with the first series now a few episodes over the half way point, we thought we’d see how many of you are still keeping up with it, especially since the trio’s switch from TV to online is going to have a big effect on how you consume the content they make.

So, assuming you have been watching the series already, make your voice heard in the polls below, and then let us know your thoughts in the comments.

I can remember Top Gear had live post and review, Grand Tour has none of that. Is CT being sponsored/paid by BBC?

These posts really annoy me. Matt also loved the new failed Top Gear, which of course is his opinion, but felt like he was forcing himself to justify how good it…was?

Top Gear season 23 got better when the petrolheads Harris and Reid arrived, but the ratings when down because off show 1 and 2 being crap so they could not save it pity they were good.

Grand Tour does not need live blogs on it show, people will go to Drivetribe and blog on there or there facebook, twitter and instagram pages in my view.

The first few episodes were a bit out of sync of the car related theme. I think it got a lot better and will continue to climb

I really like The Grant Tour as a total. You can tell Amazon is pumping money into it, especially with the video editing and special effects.
I hate the American, I really do. He’s annoying, not even remotely funny, and his voice… ugh.
Celebrity Brain Crash was funny the first times, because it was unexpected. But now, the “deaths” are just so lame and predictable.

still better braincrush than a 20 minute interview piece by Chris Evans.

I love the grand tour! The Nambia special reminded me of all the past TG specials and it was really funny, especially the ending ;)!! The only thing I don’t like is the American. Conversation street is funny too lol
