Are You Still Watching The Grand Tour?

There have been some Grand Tour episodes I’ve not been too fond of thus far, but the two part Namibia special that’s just been on seemed like a high point. It felt just like ‘old times’, albeit with more budget and a little more swearing.

Clarkson, Hammond and May were at their witty best, the familiar chemistry backed up with some great action, truly epic cinematography and a dash of drama. But here’s the thing: I had to do a little catching up on the series to reach that point, as I’d fallen behind.

Are You Still Watching The Grand Tour?

This perhaps shouldn’t be surprising: all series - whether they’re on a conventional TV channel or a streaming service - tend to have a decline in viewership after the first episode in a season, and it seems The Grand Tour isn’t immune. There are no viewing figures available from Amazon Prime, but certainly on CT we’ve noticed fewer people talking about the show, and a diminishing interest in the episode trailers when they crop up.

Like I said, nothing unusual: the ‘hype train’ has to depart at some point. But with the first series now a few episodes over the half way point, we thought we’d see how many of you are still keeping up with it, especially since the trio’s switch from TV to online is going to have a big effect on how you consume the content they make.

So, assuming you have been watching the series already, make your voice heard in the polls below, and then let us know your thoughts in the comments.

I keep saying that this show is too scripted, it should be more natural and that both the American and Celebrity Brain Crash is awful, and yet I find myself glued to Amazon Prime every Thursday to be one of the first people in the world to watch the Grand Tour.

The american is def crap.. Tries to be funny but is just not. Celeb brain crash, again getting old but the rest of the show is still comedy gold!

To be honest,I would watch any show that contains these three idiots. But overall,I think its a good show.Yes,it is too scripted, and yes some things might not be funny, but I think we should appreciate the effort thats gone into making these episodes. After what happened with Top Gear, they could`ve just quit, but they decided to continue, and I really respect them for that.

I’m just not a fan of the platform. Only have Prime for GT and free shipping lol.

I am still watching it, the Namibia special was excellent, but the series has been a bit hit and miss.

For the record, I thought the new TopGear got better towards the end, and will surely improve for the next series.

If anything, the biggest missed opportunity I think the show had was the fact that they didn’t craft the challenges and films around the location that the tent was set up in. That aspect of the GT was hyped quite extensively before its launch, yet so far as I can see, the only major use for it is to provide different sketches for the now thoroughly unfunny ‘Dead Celebrity’ running joke. Say, for example, the Finland episode a few weeks ago; wouldn’t it’ve been great if Clarkson and Co. had bought three old bangers in Finland, and then used them to compete in a variety of Finnish motorsports such as folk racing?

This! It’s so weird they never tied in the location with the films. Completely illogical.

be too boring doing that better to have them out of sync in my view, simple reason somedifferent every week.

I can agree that it’s lacking on car reviews and celebrity brain crash is pretty much meh but with the chemistry of those 3 when they’re together I can’t help but laugh my ass off. I will still continue to watch TGT now that they are comfortable with their new show.

I guess I would suggest a bit more time for car reviews. I’m actually still waiting for then to review the Ford GT350R and the New Ford GT, I would like to know what they think of those two cars as professional car journalist.

no one bother about car reviews, look at top gear season 23 had plenty of car reviews and it bomb in the ratings.
