1. Need for Speed: Most Wanted – BMW E46 M3 GTR

It’s impossible to forget the awesome Need for Speed: Most Wanted cover star, the brilliant BMW E46 M3 GTR mid-drift with a classy blue and silver colour scheme.

2. Gran Turismo 4 – Ford GT

The iconic Ford GT beast famously appeared on the cover of the Gran Turismo 4 PS2 game, showing off the ridiculous engine cover, giving a hint of the engine underneath and a bit of the interior too (although we were not too bothered about that bit). It certainly made for one beautiful cover.

3. Colin McRae Rally 2005 – Subaru Impreza WRC

The Subaru Impreza WRC car in its blue livery remains one of the most popular rally cars of all time and graced the front cover of Colin McRae Rally 2005. It definitely looked awesome and the action shot was pretty badass.

4. Need for Speed: Underground 2 – Nissan 350Z

We don’t get a particularly great view of the Nissan 350Z on the cover of Need for Speed: Underground 2, but we do get a nice look at its snazzy wheel and bold green paint.

5. Forza Motorsport 5 – McLaren P1

The McLaren P1 is a bonkers hypercar and quite rightfully deserves a spot on this list, having featured drifting around Prague on the front cover of FM5. It made for a very special cover, that’s for sure.

6. Forza Motorsport 4 – BMW M5

The Limited Collector’s Edition of Xbox’s Forza Motorsport 4 caught the eyes of many with this gorgeous BMW M5. It’s hard to look away from that beautiful piece of machinery, isn’t it?

7. Test Drive 6 – Dodge Viper GTS

With a blue and white Dodge Viper GTS seemingly jumping out of the box art right at you, Test Drive 6’s cover made quite an impression. The game itself, however, wasn’t quite so well received.

8. Need for Speed: The Run - Shelby GT500 Super Snake

As suggested by Kenny Wagener

The game may not have been particularly great, but the cover certainly made up for that. Few racing game covers are more badass than this one, which has a Shelby GT500 Super Snake kicking up water and a helicopter also thrown in for good measure.

9. Colin McRae Rally 2.0 – Ford Focus WRC

Another Colin McRae Rally game, 2.0 featured McRae’s famous Ford Focus WRC car with white livery and Martini stripes.

10. Project Gotham Racing 2 – Ferrari Enzo

The Project Gotham Racing games all featured Ferraris on the cover but arguably the most memorable and mean-looking is the Enzo that illustrated the second installment in the series.

I like how the comment section is full of people posting their suggestions, that you know, could have been put on the original community post instead, but no they wait until the actual list is up. XS

That’s an E46 M3 GTR (Street Version) on NFS Most Wanted’s cover, not an E36.
