This Super Awkward Interview Is Proof That Everyone At The BBC Hates 'The Grand Tour'

Presenters at the BBC's 'The One Show' conducted an interview with Hammond and May in which the pair were called 'middle aged' multiple times, creating an atmosphere you could cut with a hammer...

Fouck hahaha

Today Top Gear are a crap, too much political-rightness… They know The Grand Tour will be far away better than Top Gear!

Might be a stupid question, but is it forbidden for Richard and James to say “top gear”? Because those ladies provoked it an awful lot

They had lots of problems with “the other show” when registering new name for their show. It really sucks how BBC is behaving after they left.

Well, what can you say. I have been watching Top Gear on BBC America for a couple years and found it intensely entertaining and sometimes shocking that those three idiot-geniuses actually did all that. It all went bad during a project where they went ashore at Terra Del Fuego and headed north with their production crew for some kind of charitable racing event in Argentina. Somehow word had got around that some Brits were “invading” their country and Argentinians apparently have memories of the Falklands. The BBC vehicles were attacked repeatedly and they were lucky to escape with their lives.
The trio even got in trouble with the US State Dept. when during a road trip from Florida to New Orleans they attempted to BBQ a dead cow, purposely aggravated southern rednecks to the point of violence and had a few issues with local police. The US State Dept. said if they returned to the US they were prohibited from performing any “comedy”. The main factor in their longevity was the simple fact that TOP GEAR was for many years the most popular TV show in the world. The reboot of Top Gear after they left was a complete failure. The US version is OK but a pale shadow.

I don’t think you understand the British sense of humour. These were all experienced BBC broadcasters (although the girls are probably not petrolheads given the general scope of the show) used to the ineptitude of BBC management and hence slightly cynical/all in the same boat. James is probably fed up being dragged around the interview circuit. I think it’s all quite funny, especially the way they deny Top Gear ever existed, ie they are all in on the same joke. Glad that Andy Wilman got a mention but they could have also referenced Richard Porter and the rest of the TG crew that have moved with them.
