Here's How To Flock Your Dashboard For That Race Car Look
If you want an inexpensive way to transform your sun-damaged dashboard, then flocking is the perfect way to make it look better than new and give it that race car look!
If this mod is a race inspired cosmetic enchantment will this make me a ricer?
I guess that applies to anything that is R-I-C-E and doesn’t work. The flocking reduces light reflecting from the dash and helps driver concentrate without distractions. I will not call you a ricer in that situation.
Now here’s a car project I would royally screw up, if my life depended on it.
My dad achieved the same result on his Datsun 510 in 10 minutes by simply using an old towel and jamming it under the dash top
Pressed like the instant I spotted an E28 in the intro.

The time i was visiting England, i saw a completely flocked Porsche 911 parked in Hammersmith
These guys put out some seriously good videos. I think its awesome that there’s finally a how to video on this with high production quality.
Wait a sec, most race cars don’t have dashboards, so…….
They need to have dashboards of some kind (doesn’t have to be OEM) so you don’t face plant into a bunch of sharp sticky metal bits in case of a crash.
VW went too cheap in their mk6 North American Jetta so they put in a plastic dash. That damn thing needs flocking desperately.
Flocking would make a dam good headliner. No sagging, ripping, only hard part would be application. Also the reason this stuff probably cover so well and hides damage is because of its very low gloss and fiberous texture hides alor.
