I think he was too hard on accelerator at the exit of the crash which caused him to loose control for the spin, otherwise car slowed down enough for him to make it a victory..

Damn, that’s a pretty close call. Perhaps the slight crunch might be from the pendulum effect the R8 was thrown into after he briefly glided over the pavement, at least from the looks of it
