Was The Second Episode Of Top Gear An Improvement Over The First?
From the shouting to the long and seemingly pointless Reliant challenge, it was clear you guys found a lot to dislike about Top Gear post-revamp when watching the first episode. But you know what? I actually enjoyed the second episode.
Sure, it’s clear Evans has work to do when it comes to telling an audience about a car in an insightful way (he is new to this, so should be cut a little slack) and can still come across as irritating, but the McLaren feature was good to watch, and the SUV challenge genuinely enjoyable.
Comments in the CT live discussion seemed much more positive too, so we thought we’d put it to a vote to see exactly what you guys thought:

not bad, I am definitely one of the Top Gear watchers, even though Evans is annoying af. Matt is a good chap, good presenter, and I was genuinely chuffed to see JB on telly :)
I’m totally agree… It’s not the same as the old Top Gear, but it’s fine. The only thing is Chris Evans, he needs calm down.
This was definitely better. Evans needs to step off the crowd, and he and Le Blanc need to find a rhythm. They need time. You can’t expect 22 seasons of chemistry and friendship to appear in two episodes.
That said, the best part was Jenson’s bit in the McLaren because there was an actual, human, response from both lads in the car. That small bit between Jenson and Evans is the sort of thing they need to chase and, if they get there, it’ll be a good show. Particularly in a year or two if they offer Jenson a job as presenter on the show…
I will rate it 2/10 because it was better then the last episode, hopefully this trend continues and the show gets better but…. i swear to god if they do the “And on the bomb shell” joke one more time i will find the producer and i will shove a rusty spade so far up his ### he will be talking with a mouth full of ####
But i will keep watching as i want it to be a good show but the major downer for me is its sooo much like the old show and most of the time its not funny even. I will keep watching and see if it gets better, hopefully next week i will be back with a 3/10

I think that every one is being to harsh on evans hes new so cut him some slack. Yea the first episode was bad but the level of improvment in the second really suprised me and honestly evans wasnt tgat bad in my opinion.
I feel like it was better and I personally think Matt is a way better presenter than Chris ( •_•)
I feel they’re almost at the level of fifth gear …still more hurdles to clear…yes chris evans is a hurdle too
Using a gay slur is not a good way to improve the show (“f** breath” while talking about the McLaren F1)!
the only part i liked was seeing Jenson and the stig drive the LT. Evans sucks. He’s scripted and way too shouty. The show would be so much better with Harris and LeBlanc doing the main bits, and then leave eddie, evans, schmitz for the side gags.
Even Clarkson folding a cardboard box has more views
