24% Of You Rate 'New' Top Gear's First Episode As 1/10
When we posted our Top Gear live discussion on Sunday evening, we were taken aback by the scale of the response. So far the thread has clocked over 550 comments, and if you have a look through, there’s a bit of a theme: most of you guys don’t seem at all keen on the revamped show.
Wanting to quantify exactly how CTzens found the first episode of Top Gear with Chris Evans as host, we ran a couple of polls, both of which produced startling results. In the first we asked you to rate the episode out of 10, and an astonishing 24 per cent of you picked ‘1’. In fact, 75 per cent of the 11,000+ people polled gave the episode a score between 1 and 5.
In the second poll we wanted to know how many of you are planning on tuning in next week. Just 18 per cent of just under 5000 polled said ‘hell yes’, with 33 per cent selecting ‘nope’ and 49 per cent ‘currently undecided’.
The silver lining is we’re yet to see Chris Harris and Rory Reid - who both excelled during the online-only ‘Extra Gear’ segment - in the main show. If anyone can improve the show in the eyes of CTzens, it’s them.

How Jeremy reacted to the new Top Gear
Harris got annoying after a while but i loved LeBlanc he was a good host. Lots of potential if he’s paired up with the right cohosts

Show is good, Star in a reasonably priced (Rally)car is alright but it could grow on me, Hosts: the only people I like are LeBlanc, Schmitz, Reid, and Harris

There are many things that were good, also many that were horrid. This was their chance to remake the show and they tried to have them reenact it as if they were the other three. Like the beginning where jeremy says what will happen, chris way overdid it. He sounded like he was dying. I feel that they were trying to act as the other three when the other three were just being themselves in a way. Like i said. They had a chance to completely redo/remake the show and they completely failed, which might drop show ratings and viewings. I think it will get better though. Did we even see the whole cast? Are they taking turns now? everyone is so harsh because we all love the og trio. We must get over ourselves and move forwards with open minds. its not like the trio is gone forever, their new show is nearly here! also american top gear is getting better too.
The only problem is Chris Evans, replace him with Tiff Needle. Fifth gear just got cancelled get him and Vicky !
I actually enjoued the new Top Gear and see that it has a lot of potential.

It wasn’t that bad. Hopefully Chris in the next few episodes will stop trying to be Jeremy Clarkson
Matt is pretty brilliant in my opinion.
They just need to stop trying to replicate the show.

It wasn’t too bad. I like LeBlanc, but Evans is way too cheery.
Turned it on, gave it a good hour, then just got on my laptop and looked up every now and again. Admittedly I’m partial to Jezzer, Cpt Slow and The Secret American, but I used to not like Top Gear anyway. This revamp premiere was underwhelming and the chemistry I’m used to was severely lacking. The banter was a huge part for me too. All three could marvelously review cars like no one else. Still going to give it a fair shot as time goes on. I’ll still watch old episodes and await The Grand Tour.
