How Do You Score New Top Gear Out Of 10?

New Top Gear aired last night at 8pm in the UK, and unsurprisingly, it's been a massive talking point (both good and bad). So my question to you now is this: how did you rate it out of 10?

Take a look at your Top Gear comments in this TG mega thread.

I might be in the minority here(or the only person on earth?!?), but I found Matt’s lack of enthusiasm and monotone voice overs a much tougher pill to swallow than Evans forced excitement. I have expected much better from an actor of his pay grade. That being said, I would scrap both of them and hand the show to Harris and Needell.

Dear Car Throttle

I noticed a problem with this poll. It was lacking in an option for -6/10.

2/10 Matt LeBlanc would have gotten more points if it wasn’t for a certain ginger tw*t whose name shall not be mentioned coughChrisEvanscough

Top gear 5/10- the new rallycross interview and ariel nomad section and Le blanc saved this from being a 0… they really need to sit down with Evans and explain to him that this is a car show… not TFI Friday…
Top Gear: Extra gear: 8/10, Rory & Harris really bond well together! They just felt like they were being themselves and I’m just peeved a bit that it was only about 20 minutes long… I was expecting to see Harris having an independent track test because he deserves it! But all in all I might just start watching extra gear every week instead! Partly because it’s much better and partly because I miss Harris monkey and his slides! :-(

I will give a comparison when clarkson did the reliant part my sides were sore from laughing so much but when Chris and Leblanc did it I had a wee laugh but it wasn’t the same entertainment factor.

I remember 1 of the first scene’s… Clarckson on his side down that slope. Still have to laugh with that by just thinking about it :D

First episode was always going to be a bit rocky - hell this was better than Clarkson’s first episode back in 2002 (seriously, those first episodes of TG v2.0 were not good). So I have high hopes it’ll go up from here once everyone settles into their routines.

The audience interaction was a bit weird and quite awkward - teething problems I guess - but I enjoyed the driving sections a lot.

Overall, an enjoyable first episode! It can only get better from here.

6/10.

Agree with all of your points.
As for audience interaction, I think Clarkson and team would get a pass on poor jokes and people would laugh and cheer more easily, so the new team have a harder job to win them over. Hopefully we’ll see that improve over the next few weeks.
I hope they improve the interview part of the star in a rallycross car section. Jesse Eisenberg seemed bored and came across poorly with Evans failing to bring him along in the discussion where as Gordon was a bit more interesting. I think the reveal of the LaFerrari spider would have garnered a few more ‘Oohs’ from the audience in the Clarkson days!

Henry Catchpole and Chris Harris are the only two presenters you need for Top Gear - No studio audience, no stig, no celebrities, Just the two of them showing us cars.
