Hamilton And Rosberg Just Smashed Into Each Other At The Spanish GP

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were battling for the lead on lap one of the Spanish Grand Prix when the two collided and smashed out of the race

Via MyNameIsJonny_/Reddit

It looks like Nico Rosberg was trying to cover the inside on the run to Turn 4, as Lewis Hamilton quickly closed in. But as the triple world champion tried to move alongside, Rosberg kept on pulling to the right, with Hamilton going onto the grass. From there, he was simply a passenger, spinning and crashing into his team-mate. Not what Mercedes wants, but it mixes the race up nicely for us.

What do you make of the crash? Let us know in the comments!

Well, by F1 rules this is completely legal BUT, seeing that his teammate was much faster on the exit, he should have just kept the racing line. This kind of behavior shouldn’t be allowed, it is just plain stupid. Louis had a gap, had the speed to overtake and it is obvious rosberg saw that, and just because he couldn’t accept that the other driver is faster and better on the exit he just destroyed the team’s cars. Now, not a hamilton fan nor rosberg fan, but I tend to be on hamilton’s side… the way rosberg closed the gap couldn’t let hamilton break in time and enough to avoid the collision.. he tried, that’s why he went on the grass. If I were hamilton I’d demand he be kicked out or at list punished for his behavior, especially towards another team mate.

Racing incident imo
Rosberg should have given him more room
Hamilton should have backed off
Feel bad for the team but glad it spiced up the Spainsh GP

Defending driver chooses his racing line while running in front of the car, not while being overtaken. Nico’s reaction was too late while Lewis had racing line clean. Also such move is not something that should a driver make against a teammate. I don’t agree with Niki this time.

I’m still happy with the end of GP as Max takes the win, he deserves it.
