Who’s Chris Labrooy?

After graduating from the RCA with an MA in design products, Chris first began to use 3D as a simple tool to visualise ideas for furniture and products that he could not afford to produce. As 3D technology and hardware evolved, Chris saw an opportunity to explore CGI as a creative medium in itself with which he could subvert and twist familiar everyday things into new typographic and sculptural forms. Chris is interested in the intersection between typography, architecture, product design and visual art.

Chris LaBrooy has exhibited at the design museum in London and has been featured in many publications covering design, products, typography and illustration.

Let’s explore his work though!

There are many more works of his which you can find on his website, but the stunning flexy, gummy like 3D models and vibrant colours definitely set him apart from all the others car artists. He certainly has a style of his own!

Which one do you think was the best?

For those interested, he used Vray and Maxon Cinema 4D to do these renders.

I think I will name my kid Chris, because people with name Chris turn out to be great cat enthusiasts like Chris Harris and Chris Evans. 🤔

Alright, so when I dry hump the walls outside it’s public indecency but when a 911 does it it’s “art.”

When they said, “car art doesn’t have any personality or special meanings”.
