Doug DeMuro Is (Sort Of) Sorry For Being Mean About The Land Rover Defender

After say some less than complimentary things about the Defender, DeMuro found himself swamped with angry comments from British viewers. Thankfully, he's seen sense and apologised for this 'outrage'. Kind of...

Not true! We love the UK. If we didnt, why would we have saved their ass in WWI…. and II?

I don’t see why should have apologized. It IS his opinion, and HIS channel, and HIS car.

He doesnt actually apologize in the video. He just says some sarcastic things and explains how they misinterpreted what he meant

As a Brit who has far more than his fair share of Defender experience, I can say that everything he said is completely true and the people getting but hurt about must have never been in one. They are slow, unreliable, noisy, uncomfortable it is on par with the original Mini when it comes to coolness. Not to mention the fact that for the majority of people in remote and extremely difficult to reach regions the Defender is probably the first and only car they’ve ever seen.

He is a racist s*. The Americans have a worldwide reputation for sloppy handling, soggy suspension and awful brakes. Britain doesn’t. Also, the comment was right. Most Americans are too lazy to bother changing gear. Also look at McLaren’s build quality. They are British. And most of his British cars were old and second hand. They probably had already done a lot of driving before he bought them.

I know Doug says it’s not reliable at all, but i’ve heard a couple of times that Land Rover has 85% of its all-time-production still running. That proves that the’re quite reliable as I see it.
I’ve seen a couple of those arround here, and they’re expensive ONLY on the US. In ANY other place you can get them for a lot less money.

People in ‘MURICA thinks everyone needs their living standars, but the rest of the world lives quite good without ‘em..
