Watching This Van Driver Refuse To Let An Ambulance Past Is Stupidly Frustrating
Despite having an ambulance with its lights flashing and siren blaring right behind, the driver of this van simply won't move over, forcing the paramedics to undertake him
While this video - filmed somewhere in the UK - is immensely frustrating to watch, we’ve seen worse. Last year, we saw an idiotic BMW driver actually pull over an ambulance on a motorway, for no apparent reason.

This reminds me of drivers in Austin Tx. They will try to get through an intersection first if they have the green light before letting an ambulance through. A few years ago, I was working at an oil place, and watched as like 20 some odd cars went through an intersection while an ambulance that clearly had lights flashing, and siren going sat almost in the middle of the intersection.
I kinda wish they could figure out a way to mount some cameras on emergency vehicles. As a car passes them when they aren’t suppose to, one of the cameras gets the license plate, then slaps a huge fine on them.
I’d be running into him and drumming up business. Granted, I wouldn’t have a job, but still.
I hate it when people block emergency vehicles if you do it intentionally your a douche, these are people with jobs to do and people depending on them to get there ASAP, by blocking police, fire or EMS you might quite literally have just killed someone. And if you don’t know your blocking a emergency vehicle what the hell are you doing, if you can’t hear it you should be able to see it a vice versa, it’s time to have some situational awareness or not drive.

To be fair alot of paramedics I’ve met have said they’d prefer people to not get out of their way, and instead let the paramedics find their way around you
Either he wasn’t paying enough attention or that was deliberate. Either way, they’re a ** and shouldn’t be driving. I wonder how they’d have felt if it was their own family member the ambulance was trying to get to.
Maybe it’s time for emergency vehicles to have bull bars fitted?

When the van driver looks over to the ambulance crew as they’re passing, and they’re glued to the window like
I do the same to Police cars, i hate police and will delay moving over as much as possible blaming “i didnt know what to do”. Shouldn’t be giving people fines for redicilous stuff. And yes i drive a BMW
