Don’t mind the ‘Vette and Viper, both are quite nice and very capable performance cars, but I’d still have the Porsche..
2 things: 1. The Corvette has an optional small duckbill which can be attached to the factory spoiler, which might solve the oversteer issue. 2: A twisty track like Laguna Seca was always going to favor the Viper with its aero package. That aside, I love both and what a great episode! Don’t see why there are so many fanboys and haters on both sides. Both are amazing cars.
True. Leguna Seca did give the Viper more of an advantage with the twist and turns. Really though, it wouldn’t have mattered what track they were on. The Viper can brake later, and has less of an issue of oversteer, meaning it can handle the turns better. Doesn’t matter what track they had been on, the Viper would have been able to brake later, and exit the turns at higher speeds. The Vette is just simply out classed.
All the Vette has on the Viper as far as performance is that it can do a quarter mile, and 0-60 faster, and it’s not by much. Which is fine, until you get to the first turn where that advantage is lost.
The Viper is a better track car, where as the Vette is the better every day car.
Pair of Chevy fan boys, it clearly wins but they need to find something stupid to complain about. The reality is, that’s probably the very last Viper and it smoked the Z06 by 3 seconds on Laguna Seca, pay it the respect it deserves.
Never driven the C7 Corvette but now that I saw this I’m thinking the C6 is way better
Every time I see a Corvette I get all excited because I think it is a Viper. It is a daily struggle that I am working to overcome.
